SBL-ADM-01042: Login failed for specified username, password, and ODBC datasource combination

Cause

Incorrect username, password or ODBC datasource setting or other server/component/profile parameter settings.

Diagnostic Steps

Review the settings in the siebns.dat, Object Manager.log, NameSrvr.log, and SrvrMgr.log files for traces similar to these:

In siebns.dat:

The siebns.dat file may indicate the ServerMgr component at the Enterprise level is configured to use a custom security adapter (SSO).

Solution

To rectify the issue, reconfigure the ServerMgr component on the Siebel Enterprise as well as Siebel Server component level to use DB authentication.
