The first steps would be to download and save the patch in Solaris.
You need to login to Oracle Support Web and search in the tab - Patches and Updates
and then Patch search.
Finding patches never was easy for me!

Try this ->
Go to Product or Family (Advanced)
Product = Siebel Business Applications
Release = Siebel CRM 8.1.1.3
Type = Patch
Description contains = qf
Do not select Platform and click search.

Alternately, get the patch ID number from someone and search in the website.
This is what works best for me.
Downloading is straight forward, the files are quite big, you could use a download accelerator.

Usually the patches come in different platforms. The windows version should contain the patch
for siebel tools and thick client. I will describe how to install the Solaris patch in this article.

Copy the patch files to the server of your choice. We need to create the installer image first and
this can be done on any Solaris server.

Unzip the Software package.
run unzip patachfilename
keep going deeper into the folders (ther will be only one subfolder in each folder)
until you find a list of files.
This folder should have imagecreator.jar and script.

type ./Solaris_ImageCreator -console

The output should be like this.
