Users using IE9 may cause crashes in Siebel. In most cases an IE9 user can log in, use Siebel for a while and
after that get an error message. This sometimes, but not always causes Siebel to crash.
Typically the user should get an error message SBL-UIF-00289 for IE9. We got a lot of errors with this message
- "The applet field with name "s_1_2_51_1" doesn't exist.(SBL-UIF-00289)”. Typically this was a popup which would say this.
This error can also happen with Windows 7 and Internet explorer 8 if you have not configured IE8 in Siebel.
Next the crash – For IE9 errors, the callstack file size is 3615 bytes. Once we had a callstack of size 3475 bytes.
The contents were like this for the 3615 callstack size. Please note that in a callstack file,
your full Siebel folder is mentioned many times.
Depending on the path size, the callstack size will change slightly from one installation to another.

In Windows 7 you can downgrade IE 9 to IE 8 like this
1) Press the Start button in the lower left corner of your screen
2) Type appwiz.cpl in the run section and press [ENTER]
or
1) Click Start,go to Control Panel Click Uninstall a Program under the Programs category
2) Select "Windows Internet Explorer 9" in the category 'Microsoft Windows' and press 'Uninstall' in the top of the 'Installed updates'-box.
3) Reboot your computer
